Readathon 2010
We are delighted with the year 7 efforts in raising money for Readathon. A healthy £265 was raised for Clic Sargent and The Roald Dahl Foundation for Cancer Care.
Sir Simon Gouray visits the English Department
On 16th November 2010 we welcomed local landowner and ex president of the NFU, Sir Simon Gourlay to school. He gave a most interesting talk to year 11 students about climate change and wind turbines as part of our topic on discursive writing and local interest subjects.

'Mini Saga' Competitions
Pupils throughout Key Stages 3 and 4 entered a mini saga writing competition. They had to write a complete story in 50 words or less. More than 100 pupils had their stories published in a book.
'Oleanna' AS level lectures
Miss Davies is running a trip to Cardiff on 1st December 2008 to attend University lectures on David Mamet's play 'Oleanna'. The trip is for AS level students and year 11 pupils who are considering taking English Literature at AS level.
Trip to see 'Under Milk Wood'
In April 2008 Mrs Northwood and Miss Davies took a group of year 11 students to see Dylan Thomas' 'Under Milk Wood' in Swansea Grand Theatre. Pupils study the play as part of their GCSE literature course. A great day out was had by all. Photos of the trip will be available soon.
