A Careers Wales Adviser is available in school to help students plan for the future. The Careers Adviser can help students to:
- find out about careers they are interested in and the qualifications and skills required
- decide on their course choices in Year 9
- plan their next step after Year 11
- find out about job vacancies and training opportunities
- make decisions about options after sixth form
- apply for University, College, jobs and training
Extra help is available for students who need additional support.
As well as advising students in individual interviews the Careers Adviser gives class talks on career related topics.
Careers Wales also works with the school to help students find out about the world of work through activities like work experience and industry days.
Students are encouraged to visit www.careerswales.com for information about option choices, courses, job and training vacancies and to record their achievements.
Students can make an individual appointment with the Careers Adviser, contact details can be found on the careers notice board in school. The Careers Adviser is usually available at parents' evenings.
