GCSE Results 2009
John Beddoes School have received outstanding GCSE results, these are the best ever set of GCSE results seen. It is not just a reflection on those students who achieved the success at the higher grades (A*-C) but also those who achieved grade D-G. No pupil left our school without a recognised GCSE.
A brief look at our GCSE performance shows:
- 79% of Year 11 students achieved 5 or more GCSE grades at A*-C
- 97% of year 11 students achieved 5 or more GCSE grades at A*-G
- 94% of year 11 students achieved 1 or more GCSE grades at A*-C
- 100% of year 11 students achieved 1 or more GCSE grades at A*-G
We had our best year at the higher grades with out year 11 students achieving:
- 5% A* grades
- 15% A grades
- 22% B grades
- 37% C grades
79% overall A*-C pass rate!
This was the first year of our vocational courses in partnership with Coleg Powys (Newtown) which saw 11 students achieve the Level 2 Vocational Qualifications in Construction, Motor Vehicle or Salon Services (equivalent to 2 A*-C grades at GCSE)
We congratulate all year 11 students and we look forward to many of them returning to our sixth form in September.
