John Beddoes School Uniform
School uniform is compulsory for all students in year 7 - 11 and the list below (which has been arrived at by consultation with staff, pupils, governors and parents) is definitive.
Pupils are expected to dress smartly. hair should be tidy with no extreme styles. In certain lessons it may be necessary to tie up or cover up hair for safety reasons.
Jewellery is restricted to a watch, one small ring and one small stud or sleeper in each ear. Piercing's, other than in the ears are not allowed. Infringement of these rules may result in serious disciplinary action, which could include sending a student home.
The uniform consists of:
Shirts: White polo shirt with gold school motif
Skirts: Plain black tailored knee length skirt
Trousers: Plain black tailored trousers with a plain black belt, if required
Tights: Girls are allowed to wear black or plain tights
Socks: White, black or grey socks
Shoes: Black or dark brown leather, sensible, low-heeled shoes which are suitable for working in a workshop or laboratory.
Sweatshirts: Maroon with school motif for years 7,8 & 9. Navy blue with school motif for years 10 & 11.
Apron or overall: For technology or science

- Pens (red and blue/black)

- A reading book for silent reading in form periods
ALL ITEMS OF UNIFORM SHOULD BE CLEARLEY NAMED (otherwise it is impossible to return lost property to students)
