Head Boy & Head Girl
We both decided that the Sixth Form was an ideal place to further our education after completing our GCSE's at John Beddoes. John Beddoes Sixth Form provides a perfect ethos for learning and succeeding. Set in a self-contained, recently re-decorated building, with a garden and patio area, it is friendly and relaxed. The interior includes two common rooms, a kitchen area, a computer suite and a quiet room. There is also an office that contains information about future career prospects and University prospectuses and guides.
There is a wide variety of different A-level academic and vocational studies available. The repeated attainment of high results is not only reflected through the student's conscientiousness but also via the excellent relationship that occurs between teacher and student due to the small A Level classes that provide individual attention. This is an obvious advantage as it increases the students understanding of their subjects and inevitably improves their achievements.
Although our main aim is examination success, the close Sixth Form environment will ameliorate your social skills, which is a necessity for life. Here at John Beddoes Sixth Form we have more opportunities that you would receive at a normal college. We have a close connection with the lower school, partaking in mentor schemes and volunteering in 5 x 60 coaching sessions. We also have recently begun to offer the Welsh Baccalaureate, allowing for school trips, fundraising events and the fulfillment of key skills resulting in good morale and an impressive personal statement.
We sincerely hope that this small insight into the Sixth Form and its social / academic opportunities has encouraged you to join us.
