Council Chairman Rewards Students
On Tuesday 19th January 2010 County Councillor David Price, Chairman of Powys County Council presented students special awards at our full school assembly. He presented the Chair of Powys County COuncil Youth Awards to:
- Scott Sharp (year 10) for community services to the school.
- Georgina Carini (year 11) for consistently achieving well since year 7.
- Chloe Gillum (year 12) and Jack Gillum (year 9) for raising large amounts of money for Diabetes UK in school and the community.
He then presented awards on behalf of John Beddoes to:
- Dan Millichamp and Kate Taylor (year 9) Bronze Praise certificates
- Kyle Lloyd-Bithell and Joseph Hayward (year 8) Gold Praise certificates
- Rachel Venables (year 12) 5 x 60 Coach of the Year Award for her hard work and commitment to coaching the year 7 girls football team
- Danny Pitts (year 12) 5 x 60 Coach of the Year Award for his hard work and commitment to coaching the year 7 boys football team.
Councillor Price said: "I aim to highlight and acknowledge exceptional achievements of young people within Powys. Not just academic ability of sporting brilliance, but finding those youngsters who are an excellent role model to other young people."
